1. Spawn placement wins or loses the early game
When you deploy, pick a world with room to grow — open, unowned territory around you beats a crowded corner squeezed between strong neighbours. Edges and pockets are easier to defend because you have fewer borders to watch. Avoid spawning right next to the current leaderboard leader.
2. Master the attack-force slider
The slider sets what percentage of your troops each attack commits. It is the single most important control in the game.
3. Expand into empty space before fighting players
Neutral worlds are nearly free territory and income. Grab them early and fast — every tile you own grows your troop cap and gold. Picking fights with strong players too soon just feeds them your army. Out-grow first, then out-fight.
4. Build an economy that snowballs
Gold builds and upgrades; troops are your army. Balance both:
- Colony & Trade Hub — your core economy: more troop growth and more gold income. Build these early and keep upgrading them.
- Spaceport — unlocks fleets (see below) and projects power across water and the void.
- Defense Post — hardens a border tile against attacks.
- Missile Silo — required before you can launch missiles. Interceptor — shoots incoming missiles down.
5. Use fleets to cross water and the void
Build a Spaceport to produce Sentinels (warships) and transports. Fleets let you raid coasts, contest sea/void chokepoints, and land troops on worlds you can't reach by land. A player who ignores the sea gets flanked by one who doesn't.
6. Alliances are a weapon — and a risk
Allying secures a flank so you can commit elsewhere, and lets two players gang up on a runaway leader. But alliances can break — never leave your shared border completely undefended, and be ready for the moment a friend turns.
7. Defend smart, not everywhere
You can't wall off every tile. Concentrate Defense Posts on the borders that face real threats, keep a mobile troop reserve to counter-attack, and add Interceptors near anything a missile would love to hit. Overextending is the most common way good players lose.
8. Endgame: missiles decide big games
Once you have a Missile Silo, you unlock devastating strikes: Fission Missile and Antimatter Missile for single targets, and the Orbital Barrage for multi-warhead saturation. Open with a missile to crack a turtled enemy, then push troops into the gap before they recover.
9. Hunt the right worlds for bonuses
Different worlds grant different edges — capture the ones that fit your plan: Verdant (troop growth), Volcanic (attack), Desert (gold income), Ice (max troops). Building your empire on the right biomes compounds over a long game.
10. Test yourself in ranked
When you're winning solo games, jump into ranked 1v1 and 2v2 ladders to climb against real players. Team ranked rewards coordinated expansion and shared focus fire.
